AI dictionary for work
Red teaming
Trying to find failures before real users do.
What it means
Red teaming means deliberately attacking your own AI setup — feeding it tricky, hostile, or edge-case inputs — to find weaknesses and risks before they cause real harm.
Why it matters at work
Ask the AI to poke holes in its own work, or test a workflow with the worst realistic inputs, so you catch problems on your terms rather than in front of a customer.
Beginner mistake
Only testing the happy path. Real users paste weird formats, ask leading questions, and hit edge cases you did not imagine.
Example prompt
Red-team this customer reply: how could it be misread, what could be wrong, and what is the worst way someone might respond?
