A prompt is everything you type to the AI: the request, the background, the examples, and the format you want back. The quality of the prompt largely decides the quality of the answer.

A good work prompt usually states three things: the context (what is going on, who it is for), the task (the specific thing you want), and the format (what shape the answer should take).
